When is the Call of Duty Black Ops 6 beta? Open beta start time countdown

Everyone loves a good beta, especially Call of Duty players, which is a good thing because there’s a new one every single year.

Black Ops 6 is a return to form for Treyarch and the CoD franchise, with a harrowing campaign set in the early 1990s, the return of round-based Zombies, and a new focus on movement with the “omnimovement” abilities in multiplayer.

The BO6 beta will run in two different periods: a closed beta period for those who pre-order the game and an open beta for all players to try. And for the first time in a long time, the beta will be open to all platforms at the same time with no exclusivity period to speak of.

Here’s everything we know so far about when you can get your hands on the Black Ops 6 beta.

When is the Black Ops 6 beta?

The CoD beta is a yearly event, giving players a chance to try out the next game early to determine whether or not they’ll purchase it. The Black Ops 6 beta is next on deck, and it’s coming before the leaves start to change and the full game releases on Oct. 25.

Black Ops 6 open beta date (early access)

The Black Ops 6 early access beta runs from Aug. 30 to Sept. 4. This play period is for all players who pre-order the game or get a code for the early access portion of the beta via Twitch drops, giveaways, or other means.

The start time for the beta will likely be around 1pm CT on Aug. 30. Check the countdown below to see how long it is until then:

Aug. 28 is the date of the Call of Duty Next event, so the beta will begin just two days later after the multiplayer component of BO6 is officially revealed by a slew of content creators in the live streamed extravaganza.

Black Ops 6 open beta date (all players)

The Black Ops 6 open beta runs from Sept. 6 to 9, and will be available for free for all players on all platforms (PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC). Make sure to clear your schedules and plan time off accordingly so you can grind the game and get a head start on the meta before launch.
